ADMINISTRATION
MANDATE
To provide day-to-day
administration and support services in the Authority for the provision and
regulation of mental health services in an efficient and effective manner.
FINANCE AND ACCOUNT
MANDATE
·
Responsible for processing
and payment of all goods and services on behalf of the Authority
·
Developing clear internal financial management
procedures for managing day-to-day finances of the Authority.
·
Advising management on
financial issues and policies, carrying out all Financial Business on behalf of the Authority.
· Preparing and Reporting on all Financial Transactions of MHA and its agencies.
TECHNICAL DIVISION

PHARMACY
MANDATE
•
Forecasting
and quantification of national requirements for psychotropic medicines
•
Preparation
of annual psychotropic medicines budget
•
Distribution
of procured psychotropic medicines to health facilities
• Promote the rational use of medicines
AUDIT
MANDATE
It is a requirement under the section 83 of
Public Financial Management Act, 2016 ( Act 921) , Internal Audit Agency Act
2003 (Act658) and Mental Health Act,2012 (Act 846) to:
•
maintain an internal audit
function as an overall control measures.
• provide an invaluable quality assurance and independent service to all levels of management in achieving the objectives of Mental Health Authority
•
Shall also have unrestricted
access to the Board Chairperson, Chief Executive and Audit Committee
chairperson.
POLICY, PLANNING, MONITORING AND EVALUATION.

RIGHT AND QUALITY.
MANDATE
•
Establishing and monitoring the maintenance of
human rights and equalities that are to be accorded all patients.
•
Advising the Chief Executive on rights and quality
issues
•
Coordinate the activities of the mental health
review tribunal
•
Coordinate the activities of the visiting
committees
• Provide legal support to all psychiatric hospitals
•
Liaise
with Attorney-General Department on Medico-legal matters
• Ensure quality improvement programs are in place in MHA institutions
• Participate in the implementation and evaluation of national health policies within the MHA
COMMUNICATION
•
Serve
as the primary point of communication, conveying the organisations messages and
decisions to the public.
•
Handling
media relations, fostering strong relationships with journalists, responding to
inquiries, and securing coverage to maintain a positive public image
•
Marketing
the authority, promoting its mission, values and achievements through various
channels to increase visibility and engagement
•
Organise
events and programs, coordinating logistics, schedules and resources to ensure
successful and impactful experiences that align with the authority’s
objectives.
